The electronic top reel packaging machines are ideal for packaging single products with regular shape or easy to position on the infeed belt. They are also very suitable for packaging products in trays or trays.

Welding on the bottom of the product

This type of flow pack packaging machine carries out a sealing at the top and at the end of the package thanks to the transversal sealer and a longitudinal seal under the product along the entire length. The result obtained is the typical flow pack that we are used to seeing in brioches.
Conveyor Tunnel
The conveyor tunnel is an element that shapes the film to allow the product to be wrapped without slowing down the packaging flow.
The fixed tunnel is particularly suitable for products with irregular shapes, such as products placed on cardboard or napkins.
The quality of the packaging is higher than the variable tunnel but it is limiting in the variety of products that can be packaged: this because for each product a tailor-made tunnel will have to be built with a relative increase in the costs of the packaging machine.

Rotary sealer

The rotary sealer is the most common type of sealer in flow pack packaging machines. It is a sealer composed of two spatulas fixed on two pins that rotate synchronously and which meet only once for each rotation. This type of welding allows for high packaging speeds with minimal cost technical equipment.
It is also possible to increase the packaging capacity by inserting an additional (or more) pair of spatulas to double or quadruple the speed. This option can almost never be implemented on existing machines but is very often used in the design phase of the flow pack packaging machine.

Unloaded sealer

To package products with a height above average, generally greater than 100mm, unloaded sealers are used. The term indicates the presence of a recess in the central part of the upper sealer that allows the product to pass beyond the projection of the two sealer pins, thus allowing the flow pack to be completed smoothly.
The machines equipped with this device are generally designed for the fruit and vegetable world that requires particularly high packs in trays. Just think of apples, apricots, peaches, strawberries or other types of products.

Roller conveyor on the sew cutter

It is a real roller conveyor that is mounted in the lower part of the sew cutter in the rotary flow pack machines which has the purpose of helping the product to pass beyond the sealer. This is a particularly useful device when we have to pack loose or irregularly shaped products.

Notch pitch photocell for printed film

A device for reading the printed film notch pitch that allows you to read the position of the notch and to correct the phasing of the envelope so that the sealing always takes place between one notch and another. This method is essential if the package is printed with a graphic that must always be shown in full.
